Our Approach
How we think about consulting, how we structure engagements, and the methodology we use to move complex programs from uncertainty to confident delivery.
Consulting Philosophy
Most consulting engagements produce recommendations. ITBC engagements produce outcomes. That distinction shapes everything about how we work — from how we scope an engagement to how we measure success.
We Start with the Problem, Not the Solution
Before recommending anything, we invest time understanding the real situation — the business context, the constraints, the history, and the stakeholder dynamics. Premature solutions are one of the most common causes of failed consulting engagements. We resist the temptation to pattern-match to a previous project and instead build our understanding from the ground up.
We Stay Through Execution
Strategy without delivery is just documentation. ITBC consultants remain engaged through implementation — not as observers, but as active participants in driving the program forward. We take accountability for the outcomes we recommend, which means we have a direct interest in making sure the execution works.
We Protect the Client's Interests
We have no vendor affiliations, no technology partnerships, and no implementation arm with a preferred solution to sell. Every recommendation we make is shaped entirely by what is right for the client — not by what generates follow-on work for us or a preferred partner.
We Communicate Clearly and Honestly
If a program is in trouble, we say so — clearly, early, and with a plan to address it. If a proposed approach carries significant risk, we name it. Clients engage ITBC because they need an honest assessment, not a comfortable one. We believe that clarity, even when uncomfortable, is the most valuable thing a consultant can offer.
We Define Success in Measurable Terms
At the start of every engagement, we work with the client to define what success looks like — in specific, measurable terms. This gives us a shared reference point throughout the engagement and ensures that our work is always oriented toward outcomes that matter to the business.
Delivery Methodology
A structured five-phase framework that moves clients from complexity to confident execution. Each phase builds on the last — and each produces tangible outputs that inform the next step.
Understand before acting.
Assess
We begin every engagement with a structured assessment of the current situation. This covers the business context, the technology landscape, the delivery history, the stakeholder environment, and the key risks and dependencies. The output is a clear, honest picture of where things stand — including issues that may have been obscured or underreported.
Phase Outputs
- Current-state analysis and gap assessment
- Risk and dependency register
- Stakeholder map and alignment review
- Initial findings and priority issues
